Crimea sells Novy Svet winery to Yuzhny Proekt for 1.5 bln rbl
SIMFEROPOL, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- Crimea has sold 100% in sparkling wine producer Novy Svet to Russia’s Yuzhny Proekt company for 1.5 billion rubles, according to information obtained by PRIME on Wednesday.
The region’s government said earlier in December that the starting price for privatization of Novy Svet would amount to about 1.5 billion rubles and there were interested investors. Besides Yuzhny Proekt, local company Voom-Vokh Invest also participated in the privatization auction.
The Novy Svet winery, also known as Novyi Svit, was founded in 1878 by Prince Lev Golitsyn, and it was one of the first wineries in Russia. The plant was nationalized in 2014.
